Narrative

BAMSI offers a series of planned, goal-oriented supports designed to maximize each person’s potential. Services include training in self-care, communication, social skills, fine motor development, safety, community independence, and activities of daily living. To promote community integration, Day Habilitation supports and encourages individuals served to volunteer, use community resources, develop travel skills and join community organizations.

Due to the range of individual needs for those attending Day Habilitation programs, an array of services is offered to ensure that each person’s unique needs and goals are met.  Services that are available include nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

Each person served has an individually designed service plan that outlines his or her support needs and personal goals.  The plan is structured to encourage independence, enhance social activity, and improve the quality of individuals’ lives.  All services are grounded in a person-centered philosophy in which each individual is engaged as a partner to define needs and identify desired supports.
