General Info
Narrative
Our Individual Support program provides daily support and education to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities living independently in their community. We provide an array of services such as assistance in procuring and maintaining housing, budget management, leadership training, advocacy for quality medical care, and psychiatric treatment, including risk reduction. Services are offered in a manner that is sensitive, respectful and responsive to each individual’s culture, language, lifestyle and personal preferences. Our staff provides up to 15 hours per week of individualized case management or direct care, as needed, and the program offers an on-call system for after hours and weekends for emergencies, advice and supports around critical issues.
Each person’s daily activities are based on individual abilities. Many people work in competitive jobs throughout the Boston area. Others require more support through programs funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) or the Mass Rehab Commission (MRC).
