South Shore Support Services
South Shore Support Services provides a wide range of support to individuals who live in their own apartment or with housemates and require some assistance but less than 24 hour supports. Individuals are paired with staff that have similar interests and are available at the times that best meet individual needs. The supports offered through this model are flexible and are designed based on each person’s unique support needs. Supports include assistance with banking, bill paying, shopping, cooking, housekeeping, medical appointments, medication and health management, nutrition, community involvement, behavioral supports, transportation and additional individual goal areas based on personal preference.
South Shore Support Services facilitates self-advocacy groups, parent support groups, planning for aging parents with adult children at home and social groups for individuals we support. We assist individuals and families with housing issues, respite care, transportation and recreational resources. We serve as representative payee for individuals who do not have family to serve in that capacity
The agency is a participant in the Department of Developmental Services and Department of Education’s Community Education/Residential Project. This enables us to offer support to families who have children who are returning home from or are at risk of entry into residential school placements.
