Narrative

Almadan’s 24-hour DDS Residential Programs support people with Developmental Disabilities and ID (IDD). Our programs focus on community integration, self-advocacy, maximizing independence and successful goal achievement. For nearly three decades, Almadan has supported people:

  • to become active members of the community
  • to obtain gainful employment
  • and to live full lives with meaningful relationships

At Almadan, our staff ensures that all supports are provided in a manner that promotes dignity and respect.

Almadan’s Shared Living program matches care providers with people with similar interest. Carergivers help in the development of caring and long-term relationships. Caregivers offer guidance and support to people to develop the skills to:

  • become active members in their community
  • find and keep jobs
  • participate in clubs/memberships
  • do various leisure activities

all while being supported in a family setting.

Almadan offers support services to people living in the community independently. Our support services are tailored to support the needs of the person. Our staff assists people with daily tasks to include:

  • coordinating medical appointments
  • setting up transportation
  • shopping
  • meal prep
  • budgeting
  • various needs presented by the person and support team
