Narrative

Community Works is an Opportunity Works Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) program without walls that supports and empowers people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and those who are on the autism spectrum.  The program is aimed at supporting people to acquire and refine work and life skills with a focus on functional learning, community access and inclusion, relationships, meaningful community contributions, and work exploration. Unlike the traditional CBDS model where individuals begin and end their day at the agency facility, participants will spend their entire day in the community.  Staff will pick people up at their homes in the morning and transport them back to their homes at the end of the day.
