Multicultural Community Services (MCS) of the Pioneer Valley
General Info
Narrative
Our agency began in 1979 by creating community-based homes for individuals who are diagnosed with developmental disabilities. We continue to develop home environments that reflect each person’s preferences and need for supports. Each person receives warmth, sensitivity, and respect from a highly trained dedicated team of direct care professionals.
Our goal is to encourage and support each individual who resides in an MCS home to achieve full independence. Our effects center on the support services that promote community inclusion, individual choice as well as self-reliance.
MCS Residential provides homes that three to five individuals may share with 24-hour supports. Individuals’ goals are set up to promote positive self-image through the development of interpersonal; and self-help skills. Particular attention is paid to relationship building, community involvement and membership, independence, and the development of essential life skills.
