Narrative
Program Type – Day/Work Activity/Day Hab
Locations – Hanover and Braintree, MA
Program Hours – People will be assessed for their unique skills and learning styles to develop their own schedule of activities from 8:30 – 2:30 Monday – Friday
Program Goals – Days will be focused on advocacy, independent living, communication, and social, affective, sensory-motor & behavioral development. Group activities such as artistic expression, music therapy, exercise, nutrition, and media/computer time are included in the program.
As well as working on the development of these skills, people are encouraged to interact and engage with the community through activities such as:
- Volunteering at Meals on Wheels
- Volunteering at Senior Centers
- Gardening
- Food shopping
- Bowling
- Library
Additionally, everyone is provided weekly with ongoing learning & discussion forums in the areas of:
- basic human rights
- health & safety issues
- universal precautions (for health and safety)
- current events
- money management
- interpersonal social skill development
