Riverside’s Family Leadership programs provide support, training and advocacy for families in which a member of the family has a disability. Part of what Family Leadership provides includes a training series that assists families in advocating for these family members while helping them to develop a plan for the future. We have two Family Leadership programs – one in the Northeast area of MA and the other in the Metro Boston area – and both provide the opportunity to learn more about the family support movement and how to effectively create change and influence policy making at the local, state, and federal levels. Support is also provided around a wide range of topics including inclusion in schools, supported employment, positive practices, community living, and family support.
