Minute Man Arc
General Info
Narrative
Designed for post-school age individuals living independently in group residences or with their families. DDS Funded.
Minute man Arc Employment services are designed to assist people in becoming as independent as possible in employment and community participation. These services include Vocational Evaluation; Group and Independent (supported); Placement Services; and Transportation.
Employment Services usually begins with a vocational evaluation to assess skills, work readiness and values, and career interests and preferences. A Career Plan is then developed to assist in the supports needed to find employment and define responsibilities. For those people in need of skills development and are funded by DDS , we have group employment. We have sites that are typical of the local economy including: an equestrian center, horticultural care at a hospital, box making at a large fulfillment center, clerical at a business support center, retail at a department store and packaging at a small internet food business. MMA Employment services have a long history of successful community employment placements. Once placed, we can support individuals in their jobs over the long term assuring longevity. Individuals funded by DDS may also be eligible for transportation assistance to and from work.
The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS), MassAbility, the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH), and local school systems refer eligible participants to Minute Man Arc’s Employment Services Program. Additionally, private pay options are available for individuals who are not referred by DDS, MassAbility and DMH.
