Narrative
Emergency respite services are provided for people with developmental disabilities (DD) who are unable to remain in their current living situation, are homeless or need to be removed from their home in order to protect their personal safety.
The program provides a safe and stable temporary residence for a person to receive an array of supports. The goal of the service is the transition of the person to a permanent safe and suitable living arrangement.
This program provides:
- coordination and linkage to clinical supports
- medication appointments
- other necessary medical or habilitative service needs
- planning and coordinating a move to a more permanent living arrangement
- help with personal care, activities of daily living, leisure and work activities
- transportation
- medication and behavioral management
Referrals for Developmental Disabilities Emergency Respite Services are made through the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services.
