Eliot Community Human Services
General Info
Narrative
With the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services and MassAbility, Eliot operates eight group homes, each serving four to six adults with 24/7 staffing and services including:
- Activities of daily living;
- Language and communication skills;
- Socials skills and relationship building; and
- Development of leisure skills, including planning for and going on vacation.
Eliot staff members are trained to serve as role models and coaches to assist the individuals in taking steps to rebuild skills, develop self-esteem, improve overall functioning, and to be as independent as possible in their lives. Individuals are encouraged to participate in the community to their fullest ability in an effort to reconnect individuals to their overall life goals. The homes have a family-like atmosphere and are adapted to meet the unique needs and preferences of those who live in the home.
Residential and Independent Support Services are licensed through the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services and the MassAbility (Statewide Head Injury Program).
