The Guild for Human Services
General Info
Narrative
The Guild has an adult residential program located in communities west of Boston that serve individuals who have reached their 22nd birthday, fit the profile of whom we serve and are eligible for adult residential services through the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Although many parents of current Guild students request that their young adults remain with us as they transition to adult programming, we direct them to DDS, which is the organization that makes adult referrals.
One or two years before your young adult turns 22, you will want to contact your Department of Developmental Services’ (DDS) Transition Coordinator to request referral. After we receive and screen a referral, you will be invited to meet with Guild staff and tour a home if an appropriate vacancy exists. As you would want us to, we carefully match housemates to ensure we are able to help housemates build friendships, while building other important skills.
The Guild’s adult residential programs are licensed by The Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
