Narrative
Adult Family Care (AFC) is for Massachusetts residents who are eligible for MassHealth and meet the state’s eligibility criteria. They have the opportunity for a family-centered living experience.
The Arc of Bristol County’s Adult Family Care (AFC) program is for people of Massachusetts who need assistance with activities of daily living due to:
- frailty
- chronic illness
- advanced age
- cognitive disabilities
- physical disabilities
- mental illness
the chance to safely live in a family home. AFC gives people a chance to live with trained, paid caregivers.
AFC provides nursing and case management services. We partner with the person and their caregiver to offer on-going support and resources. Caregivers also receive a monthly payment.
AFC members must be at least 16 years of age, qualify for MassHealth, need assistance with one or more activities of daily living. They must be willing to participate in the program.
